“Children must feel an invitation to exist in our presence, exactly the way they are.” Dr. Gordon Neufeld

I have always loved working with kids and learning more about how their minds work. I also have a talent for making people feel comfortable in their own skin and empowered to be their strongest selves. This is what I love to do for my students.

My training:

I am an accredited Orton-Gillingham Academy instructor for students with dyslexia and other learning differences.  I received my training in Portland Oregon, under the mentorship of Academy Fellows Cathy Wyrick, Dorothy Whitehead Blosser, and Sharon Marsh in 2010. I am a perpetual student who loves to learn. I use the Diana King Method of writing instruction. I am a trained Learning Without Tears Instructor.  I have a BA from Sarah Lawrence College '06.

I'm dyslexic.  I understand how difficult it can be to be a student with a learning difference; I understand the nervousness, the pressure, and the insecurities that can haunt any student.  I also know, however, most people with learning differences are actually brilliant and out-of-the-box thinkers.  I love that my job is to help these young minds discover their strengths and untapped potential.  I'm happy to bring the wisdom of my own experience along with my continuous training to help students find their way to reading fluency and empowered learning.

When I'm not working with young brilliant minds:

  • I'm climbing mountains and rock

  • I'm being a Wilderness First Responder

  • I’m learning everything I can about trauma

  • I'm making huge colored pencil drawings

  • I'm cooking a delicious meal
