Is your child having difficulty with reading, writing or spelling? Do you suspect they have a learning disability but feel unsure? You are on the right track! You are not alone in the search for finding help for your child.
Step 1: Have your child receive a dyslexia screening by a trained professional (I provide screenings to all incoming students, and I can provide independent prescriptive screenings upon request) OR a full cognitive testing by a neuropsychologist (referrals available upon request).
Step 2: Find an Orton-Gillingham Academy trained professional (like me!) and enroll your child in services at least twice per week.
Step 3: Identify the strengths and areas of confidence in your child and then feed them constantly. Should your child need additional support in other areas, I'd be delighted to connect you with the resources you need.
Step 4: Watch your child thrive.
